* Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
* Registered Member of BACP, working in accordance with it's ethical framework
I currently work in private practice with a diverse range of clients in the UK and abroad. As a Director of Complementary Care, I also work with various projects offering them free/low-cost therapy, which includes The Royal Marsden Cancer Services, Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness, Bonded Through Cancer and Richmond Carers Project.
I offer flexible, daytime, evening and weekend sessions online, in person and by telephone which is usually weekly or fortnightly. I am aware that coming for therapy can be quite daunting but I offer a friendly, professional and non-judgemental safe space which is private and confidential following the guidelines of my governing body, the BACP.
It is helpful to bring what may be troubling you, either from the past or present to the safety of a counselling relationship. Perhaps you have been hurt or have lost someone and are finding it hard to cope. You may have gone through trauma or you are trying to come to terms with a change in your life. Perhaps your relationship is in trouble? There are so many reasons why people come to counselling. Many people find they are then more confident to be able to make positive changes in their lives, I work integratively blending different theories and approaches. I specialise in Person Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Logotherapy. Person-Centred Therapy works with the here and now, recognising that individuals are full of potential for growth. Psychodynamic Therapy focuses on self-awareness and the connection between past influences to the present. Logotherapy focuses on finding meaning in life. I am an EFT (emotional freedom) therapist which combines psychology and acupressure points working on the mind/body connection to heal anxieties and trauma.
